Stories of Transition
From Zion to the Zodiac
These are stories of leaving, questioning, and rebuilding. Stories of shelf-breaking moments and cosmic awakenings. Everyone's path is different, but the territory is shared.
Shelf Breakers & Star Charts
The moment the shelf breaks is different for everyone. For some, it's a single fact that can't be reconciled. For others, it's a slow accumulation of doubts. Many of us found that astrology entered our lives during or shortly after these transitions—not as a replacement religion, but as a language for processing change.
Saturn Returns and Crisis Moments
Saturn returns happen around ages 27-30, 56-59, and 84-87. For many former Mormons, the first Saturn return coincides with a faith crisis. Saturn asks: What are you really building? What authority do you recognize? These questions can dismantle everything.
In these stories, we explore how Saturn's timing shaped spiritual deconstruction and what happened when belief systems that once felt eternal began to crumble.
Leaving Zion, Finding the Stars
Why does astrology resonate so deeply with people who've left high-control religions? Perhaps it's because astrology offers:
- Symbolism without dogma — meaning that shifts and deepens rather than demanding absolute truth
- Personal authority — your chart is yours, and no one else can tell you what it means
- Cyclical time — nothing is permanent, everything returns, growth is spiral
- Paradox and mystery — you can hold contradictions without needing to resolve them
- Compassion for timing — not everything is your fault; some things are just planetary weather
The Great and Spacious Sky
Reclaiming imagination, symbolism, and myth after literalism. For many of us raised in Mormonism, symbolism was always pointing to something "real"—a literal heaven, a literal plan, literal prophets. Astrology invites us to let symbols be symbols, to find meaning without insisting on material proof.
The Great and Spacious Building becomes the Great and Spacious Sky. Not a place of mockery, but a place of possibility.
